!!!ONB1: This instrumental piece for the koto was composed by Yatsuhashi
!!!ONB2: Kengyoo (1614-85), founder of the modern traditions of koto music. It
!!!ONB3: occupies a position as a classic within the repertoire.  The piece 
!!!ONB4: consists of six continuously played sections, or <i>dan</i>, the
!!!ONB5: second to sixth sections each consisting of 104 beats.  As perhaps
!!!ONB6: the most well-known example of koto music, it is customarily 
!!!ONB7: performed not only in the original version for solo koto but also
!!!ONB8: in ensemble versions for two or more koto or for koto together with
!!!ONB9: shamisen and shakuhachi.  Passages from <i>Rokudan</i> are quoted
!!!ONB10: frequently in other koto works.  There is a gradual acceleration
!!!ONB11: in tempo as the music progresses.  Formally, the piece might be
